The eastern districts of Nagaland state have been feeling deprived of the privileges available to the State from the Central government. In response to this, the Eastern Naga Public Organization (ENPO) has been demanding separate statehood for the eastern Nagas under the Union of India. In their continual struggle for autonomy, they have resorted to varied forms of protest to attain their dream State. Recently, they have declared to boycott the upcoming Nagaland Assembly Election 2023 until they are granted Statehood.
